Launch at Kitty Hawk
The Wright brothers experimented for three years at Kitty Hawk prior to their famous success of December 17, 1903. The photograph above is of a test of their 1902 glider. Dan Tate can be seen running beside the 1902 glider after a launch from Big Kill Devil Hill.
