Broadway and City Hall Park
This is a rare view of Broadway and City Hall Park looking north from the Astor House to Chambers Street, during the dark days of the Civil War. Note the recruiting station at right, the old stages and the 3rd Avenue car that ended where the post office now stands. This painting was made "from one of Brady's famous war time photos."
