Herbert Hoover Fishing

Hoover's cherished pastime was trout fishing. "The Declaration of Independence," he once wrote, "is firm that all men (and boys) are endowed with certain inalienable rights . . . which obviously includes the pursuit of fish." Fly fishing restored and nourished his soul, he said, and whenever he was near a rushing stream, out came his reel and tackle and waders.
