Daniel Boone (1734-1820)

Daniel Boone was an American frontiersman. He was the central figure in the settlement of Kentucky. When Kentucky was made a county of Virginia in 1776, he was elected a captain of militia. He also served several terms as representative in the Virginia legislature.
