Andrew Jonathan Alexander (1833-1887)
Andrew Jonathan Alexander served in the Civil War as a captain in the 3rd U.S. regular Cavalry, then as a staff officer to three successive Union Generals, the most prominent being Cavalry commander James H. Wilson. He was brevetted Brigadier General for his skill and gallantry in cavalry battles in Alabama and Georgia.
