Albert G. Porter (1824-1897)
Albert Gallatin Porter was a lawyer and Republican politician from Indiana. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana from 1859 until 1863. He was elected governor of the state of Indiana and served during the years 1881 through 1885. Porter also served as the U.S. minister to Italy (1889-1892).
