Abigail Powers Fillmore (1798-1853)
This is Millard Fillmore's first wife, Abigail Powers Fillmore. She was a red-haired school teacher when Millard met her in his youth, and it was she who encouraged him to learn as much as he could and enter the law. They were married in 1828. Abigail caught cold and died of pneumonia in Washington after Fillmore's presidency.
