Andrew Preston Peabody (1811-1893)
He was editor and proprietor of the North American Review. In 1860 Peabody was appointed Plummer Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard University and, for two short intervals, was acting president of the college. He was either author or editor of 190 books and pamphlets--on conversation, travel, morals, etc.; yet the best of his writings were perhaps among the 1600 pages of his North American Review papers.
