Alexander Berkman (1870-1936)
Alexander Berkman was an anarchist who during the Homestead steel strike of 1892 attempted to kill Henry Clay Frick by shooting him in the neck and stabbing him in the leg. He served 14 years of a 22 year sentence, 10 of which were served in solitary confinement. In 1917 he was arrested again, this time for obstructing the draft and was deported.
