Alexander Agassiz (1835-1910)

Agassiz was an American marine biologist, oceanographer, and director of the Harvard University Museum of Comparative Zoology founded by his father. He was the son of the famous scientist Louis Agassiz. Alexander Agassiz made his fortune as president of the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company which mined copper.
