Adelaide Lennox
Adelaide Lennox was a New York actress who first appeared as Hermia in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Grand Opera House in August, 1873. Lennox performed next in "Milliner's Holiday" and "The Wandering Jew," also at the Grand Opera House, then played Florence in "About Town" at Daly's Theatre. Dissatisfied with the reigning theatrical managers, the actress produced a one-woman show, "Adelaide," at the Eagle Theatre in 1876. In 1877 Lennox starred in her own production of "Camille" at the Lyceum. Lennox poses in costume for "Milliner's Holiday" on a set at the Mora studio in New York City, circa 1873.
