Alfred A. Woodhull (1837-1921)
Alfred Alexander Woodhull was a military surgeon in the Union Army. In 1861 he was appointed to the medical corps and served on various fields and hospitals throughout the war. After the war Woodhull wrote many important volumes and lectured on his specialization: military and personal hygiene. In 1904 he was named brigadier general on the retired list.
