Ada Cavendish (1839-1895)

Ada Cavendish was a popular British actress. She made her debut at the New Royal Theatre in 1863. Cavendish played roles such as Juliet, Beatrice, and Rosalind. She also appeared in plays by the crime writer, Wilkie Collins, particularly as Miss Gwilt in "Armadale." Cavendish performed frequently in the U.S. and was affiliated with Wallack's Theatre. In this photo Cavendish appears to be costumed as a hunter.
