Amasa J. Parker (1807-1890)

Amasa Junius Parker was an educator, jurist, and lawyer. He was elected to Congress as a Democrat (1837-39). Parker was appointed circuit judge and then justice of the supreme court of New York. After the war he continued an interest in education and helped found the Albany Law School, where he was a lecturer.
