Adelaide Ristori (1822-1906)
Adelaide Ristori, an Italian actress, had her first success at age 14, as Francesca da Rimini. She debuted in New York in 1866 in "Medea." Ristori's greatest roles were Mary Stuart, Elizabeth I, Phaedra and Lady Macbeth.
