Here are three sketches by James E. Taylor from the front page of the May 31, 1873, edition of "Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper." The titles of the scenes are: "Ovation to General Phil. Sheridan in New Haven"; "Reception given to General Sherman at the residence of Ex-governor Winchester, in New Haven"; and "General Devens delivering the oration, in Music Hall, at New Haven."
