Harrison, Union, Liberty and Independence
This broadside from the 1840 presidential election was subtitled "An Epitome of the Life of William Henry Harrison Containing the Principal Events of his Life, With a Short Biographical Sketch of Gov. John Tyler." It includes a small engraved portrait of Harrison, a rising sun behind an eagle with a banner, olive branches and arrows. Two Ionic columns representing Harrison's military victories at the battles of Tippecanoe and the Thames flank the text. It was designed, written and published by Benjamin Owen Tyler of Albany, New York.
