Grover Cleveland (1837-1908)
Grover Cleveland became the first Democratic president in twenty-four years when he took office in 1885. He was the only president to serve in nonconsecutive terms, serving as twenty-second president from 1885 to 1889 and twenty-fourth from 1893 to 1897.
