Anti-Jackson Campaign Propaganda
This broadside accusing Andrew Jackson of being a "Negro Trader" was typical of the defamatory campaign literature of the 1828 presidential election. The truth was that while Jackson did own slaves and bought and sold them for his own estate, he was never in the slave trading business.
