Invitation to the Inaugural Ball for Zachary Taylor, March 5, 1849
At the top of the invitation is an engraving of General Taylor in the Mexican War. Beside him is a horse and a cannon. Framing the engraving are large American flags. In the background are mountains. Underneath the engraving the name of the invitee, Mrs. Wadsworth, is handwritten. Below this is a list of managers of the inauguration. On either side of this are designs with the names of battles from the Mexican War as well as the name of Taylor's vice president, Millard Fillmore.
