"Attack of the Seminoles on the Blockhouse"
The government's war against the Seminoles in Florida in the 1830s proved to be the longest and most costly Indian war to which the United States had ever been subjected. This lithograph shows the attack by the Seminole Indians on the fort at Lake Okeechobee on December 25th, 1837.
