General Israel Putnam (1718-1790)
Putnam was a Revolutionary War general and patriot who was a member of the Sons of Liberty. This steel engraving appeared as an illustration in the 1857 book, "Life and Times of Washington," by John Frederick Schroeder. It was engraved after a painting by Alonzo Chappel.
