Haymarket Square Riot
These illustrations from the May 15th, 1886 issue of Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, depict the events of the riot as well as portraits of the seven police officers who were killed. In addition to these seven officers, 4 civilians were killed and over 100 people were wounded in a riot that ensued during a labor rally that called for an eight-hour working day.
