Alice Dunning Lingard (b.1847)
Alice Dunning, an actress and vocalist from London, made her debut at the Grecian Theatre, in London. Dunning sang for the first time at the Crystal Palace, in Sydenham. The nineteen-year-old married William Horace Lingard, a music hall vocalist, in 1866. Lingard brought her to the U.S. in 1868. This portrait was hand tinted.
